I’ve spent several weeks doing a massive editing overhaul of my stories and while not a lot has changed, one major thing has, and that is Carrick’s role in A Different Shade of Fifty and the subsequent fall out for him in A Broken Shade of Fifty.
If you haven’t read a Different Shade of Fifty, Skip this next part.
If you don’t want to go back to re-read, know the difference is that Carrick was not the lawyer in the trial against Elena in ADSOF, a public prosecutor was. Carrick represented Christian to protect his interests, but was only involved in the trial in that he helped provide evidence and resources to the prosecutors office and was the one who conducted Christian’s pre-trial interviews. He was a bystander in the actual trial and was ultimately removed from the courtroom for an outburst when Christian lied. Subsequently, the emotional trauma from the trial left Carrick unable to continue working as a defense attorney, so he sold his firm and now works as a general practice lawyer, doing mostly civil trial work. Other than that, not a lot has changed.

I totally freaked out when I saw that your stories were gone from fanfiction.net! Totally called her getting pregnant though and fun fact I too am 8 weeks pregnant and due close to my husbands birthday, like the day before! That made me really happy reading that! Great story can’t wait for the next chapter!

Ooh! I’m going to have to go back and read the re-write of the trial chapters. That interests me.
I’m glad you didn’t make us panic for too long, wondering whether you had disappeared for good.
I am glad Christian took the news of the pregnancy well. I thought he would. I wonder whether things are going to play out as smoothly as Ana is hoping? A friend of mind who got pregnant in the final year of law school had similar plans but found out that babies have their own plans that can be very different from yours, and theirs can’t be reasoned with and have to take priority.
It might be a good idea for Ana to start writing her letter to Ray. She’s got a lot to say to him.

I made changes to A Different Shade of Fifty so I have to update the outtakes, I just haven’t done that yet. They’ll be up eventually.

Like many other people, I had a small panic attack when I saw that your stories were MIA. Thank God I was able to find your site. I wished you would’ve put up an author note about the move, but I understand. Anyway, amazing chapter, can’t wait to read more.

I was wondering does Carrick still represent Christian in the trial in a Broken Shade? Or was Christians represented by Carrick under another law firm?
